Mattias clear in the Nations Cup at Šamorín

Last weekend, our stallion Mattias, ridden by Jur Vrieling, delivered an outstanding performance in the Nations Cup at Šamorín. Representing the Dutch team, the pair jumped two clear rounds, collecting only two time penalties. This made Mattias and Jur the best-performing Dutch combination in the competition and an important contributor to the Dutch team's fifth-place finish.

Several other VDL offspring also achieved excellent results in Šamorín last weekend.

In the CSI1* Middle Tour Final (1.30m), victory went to VDL Legodermus PP (Harley VDL), ridden by Swiss rider Alain Jufer. The KWPN gelding, bred by H. Poppelaars of Hedikhuizen (NED), produced a faultless round and stopped the clock in the winning time of 59.81 seconds.

Second place in the class went to Jinocentia Eickenrode (Arezzo VDL) and Holly Samantha Cox of South Africa. The KWPN mare, bred by Joh. van der Waaij of Kootwijkerbroek (NED), also jumped clear and finished in 60.89 seconds.

In the opening class of the CSIO3* Gold Tour (1.45m), Goldenstar (Bacardi VDL) claimed victory under Czech rider Albert Pisarik. The KWPN horse, bred by H. Ebbinge (NED), produced a faultless performance and recorded the fastest time in the jump-off.

There was another win for a VDL offspring in the CSIO3* Silver Tour (1.40m), where Caravagio (Etoulon VDL) claimed top honours with Czech rider Ales Opatrny.
