The extremely talented Pardino inherited his jumping ability from no stranger. He is a son of top sire Zirocco Blue VDL out of the CSI5* Grand Prix mare Sarena ridden by both Ben Maher and Pius Schwizer. Pardino VDL is invited for the KWPN Performance Test and is bred from an outstanding Selle Français damline and thus closely related to numerous international Grand Prix horses.

With Jur Vrieling, Zirocco Blue VDL was among the best jumpers in the world and won numerous Grand Prix competitions at the highest level. In addition, Zirocco Blue VDL won team gold at the 2015 European Championships in Aachen and finished fifth individually. In breeding, the now preferent stallion has become one of the best of his generation. Glamour Girl (Henrik von Eckermann), Elysium (Hans-Dieter Dreher), Eddie Blue (Devin Ryan), Gisborne VDL (Daniel Coyle), Zilton SL Z (Michael Duffy) and Zuccero (Rolf-Göran Bengtsson) are all examples of top horses sired by Zirocco Blue VDL.

Pardino 's dam is the famous mare Sarena - a daughter of Calvaro Z out of a dam by Paladin des Ifs son Damoiseau d'Or. Ridden by Pius Schwizer, Sarena performed at top level at an early age, finishing third in the Helsinki World Cup as an 8-year-old. Ben Maher then took over the reins and won, among others, the CSI5* Grand Prix of Wellington and delivered top performances in Dublin, Windsor, Estoril and Rotterdam. In breeding, Sarena already produced the international showjumper Byzance de Vains and is granddam to the talented Garance de Vains. Granddam Isoline III also produced 1.60m showjumper Perle de Vains of Jordan Schoch and great-granddam Gerbe d'Or is dam of Grand Prix showjumper Osyris. Gerbe d'Or stood at the base of a dynasty of top showjumpers, including World Cup final winner Ideo du Thot of Beat Mändli, Elan du Thot of Mario Verheyden, Requiem de Talma of Alexandra Ledermann, Premiere Xindoctro Metodo of Francisco Mesquita Musa, Kingly du Reverdy of Bernardo Alves and many more.
