Karel Doorman (by Dakar VDL) wins Grand Prix of Gorla Minore

Karel Doorman (Dakar VDL x Hickstead) claimed victory in the 1.45m Grand Prix of Gorla Minore, ridden by Swiss rider Edouard Schmitz. The pair jumped double clear and set the winning time of 39.37 seconds in the jump-off.
Karel Doorman was bred by J. Poppen.

There were also strong performances by other offspring of VDL stallions in the same class:
 Lor JDV (Corporal VDL x Vegas), ridden by Josef Schwarz Jr. (AUT), finished in an excellent 3rd place, also jumping double clear in 40.03 seconds. This 9-year-old gelding was bred by J. Dresen.

Madison (Carrera VDL x Douglas) and Tommaso Gerardi (ITA) secured a respectable 6th place with a double clear performance.
Madison was bred by VDL Stud in partnership with A. Hassing, out of the Douglas mare Cely VDL.
