VDL’s offspring once again put in an outstanding performance at international level last weekend. At the CSI2* in Esposende, Portugal, Chasspleen Flamingo (by Cardento) convincingly claimed victory in the 1.45m Grand Prix.
Under his rider, the Cardento son remained clear of faults in both the main round and the jump-off, and clocked the fastest time, securing a fine Grand Prix victory. The Cardento son was bred by Alexandra Rantet.
Kilate N (by Etoulon), another successful VDL offspring, also put in a strong performance in the same class. After a clear round and a fast jump-off, the pair finished in a creditable fifth place. Etoulon, bred by Luis Malafaia Novais, had also qualified for the jump-off in the Grand Prix the week before. The top 10 was rounded off by Maximus Quantum Leap (by Carrera), who took 7th place. The Carrera son, bred by K.B. Huygen, clocked the fastest time with Santiago Diaz Ortega.
